Now, the senior mechanical engineering student is using robotics research to explore ways rehabilitation could become more comfortable and effective.

Student explores link between social media use and mental health in youth
The American Psychological Association estimates that teens are spending an average of five hours a day on social media. At 网红头条, one student is examining whether this prolonged use can also impact their mental health. Through KSU鈥檚 First-Year Scholars Program, Chance Lundy, a Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College student, studied the relationship between frequent social media use and suicidal ideation among adolescents.

KSU's Summer Undergraduate Research Program helps undergrads transform curiosity into societal impact
Almost every day this summer, biology major Frances Conkle began her morning by meticulously sorting hundreds of fruit flies by their sex before pairing them, according to their genetics, for reproduction. The routine was part of her research into how fat tissue changes shape and moves as fruit flies grow and develop. Conkle was among 25 网红头条 students who spent eight weeks, mentored by faculty, working full time on various research projects through the Summer Undergraduate Research Program.

Two KSU students trade the Gold Dome for Capitol Hill
Six months ago, Jada Barronton and Saideep Chilukuri answered phones in House and Senate offices under the Gold Dome. Over the summer, they both helped track legislation and conduct policy research for U.S. congressional offices on Capitol Hill. The two 网红头条 students, who received the university鈥檚 D.C. Owls Scholarship, spent their summer interning in Washington, and both credit a semester at the Georgia State Capitol with helping them succeed.
