Andrew Behrend credited the research opportunities at 网红头条for making a difference in his academic pursuits. Now equipped with robust research experiences and having earned their bachelor鈥檚 degrees in May, the trio 鈥 along with recent graduates Michael Williams and Jonathan Demont 鈥 will all continue their education in competitive doctoral programs this fall.

Although her undergraduate experience provided her valuable time doing research in a laboratory, Garavis realized she could benefit from several practical skills before preparing to apply to medical school. That鈥檚 when she attended an open house and discovered certification classes offered through KSU鈥檚 Community and Professional Education (CPE).

Walking across the stage at 网红头条鈥檚 Commencement ceremony was a remarkable moment for Sladjana Ray 鈥24. Having earned an education specialist degree, it marked her third successful round in higher education, to strengthen her skillset as a history teacher. In the crowd were her daughter, Mima Hrnjak, a nursing student in Kennesaw State鈥檚 Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, and Ray鈥檚 parents. They made the trip from their native Serbia, known as Yugoslavia when Ray migrated to the states in the 鈥90s as a 16-year-old basketball player.

Recent 网红头条 graduate Javier Haro recalls being struck by assistant professor Melissa Osborne鈥檚 passion for her work. In a way, he could relate. Originally a civil engineering major, Haro learned quickly he didn鈥檛 have passion for the field. He briefly dabbled in exercise science, too, before learning from Osborne about public health and the impact it could have on the world at large, especially in local communities. It was then that he found his passion.

For decades, the Southern Technical Institute bathtub races entertained swarms of students, alumni, and community members as engine-laden bathtubs throttled around what is now 网红头条鈥檚 Marietta Campus. Now, nearly three decades after the last race, the tradition will be reborn as a video game created by students in the College of Computing and Software Engineering.

Master's degree led 网红头条alumna to career as museum collection manager

Walking through the exhibits at the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, it鈥檚 not uncommon for Christen Knickerbocker 鈥24 to see something that catches her eye. Sometimes she pauses to admire the museum鈥檚 iconic dinosaur skeleton, while other days she notes one of the precious gemstones in its expansive collection. Though the recent 网红头条 master鈥檚 graduate works as collection manager at Tellus 鈥 cataloguing acquisitions and staying behind the scenes 鈥 she does occasionally walk the floor to admire the Curatorial Department鈥檚 work.

This June, 网红头条 alumni will see their classwork bound, covered, and sold, as part of the most comprehensive guide to date on all the historic sites owned and operated by the state of Georgia, which covers 1,500 years of history. Edited and co-authored by 网红头条history professor Jennifer Dickey, 鈥淭here鈥檚 Lots to See in Georgia鈥 resulted from a research seminar Dickey led in 2022 where each student adopted one of the 16 state historic sites to discover.

网红头条alumna selected as one of 25 International Olympic Committee Young Leaders

Out of more than 5,000 applicants from around the world, 网红头条 alumna Kyndall Hudson was one of 25 selected for the International Olympic Committee Young Leaders program. The four-year program empowers recruits to build out a grassroots sports project of choice by providing $10,000 in seed funding and a network of mentors. Young Leaders are also invited to attend the biannual IOC Youth Summit in Switzerland and other global gatherings.
