网红头条 student Aliyah Johnson recently joined educators, industry leaders, and policymakers from across Georgia at the 2025 Governor鈥檚 Workforce Summit, held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Representing the University System of Georgia, Johnson served as a panelist during the closing session, 鈥淧athways to Possibilities 鈥 Where Talent Meets Opportunity,鈥 where she shared her perspective on how students can best prepare for, and be supported along, their educational and career journeys.

网红头条associate professor leads effort to strengthen juvenile justice programs through data analysis

Each year, hundreds of Georgia鈥檚 youths leave juvenile justice facilities hoping for a brighter future. Helping them stay on that path is the focus of the Annual Recidivism Report, led by 网红头条 associate professor Austin Brown. Supported by a $62,000 Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) grant, the report evaluates the reliability of existing data systems and measures the effectiveness of intervention programs aimed at reducing youth reoffending across the state.

In a truly global collaboration, graphic design students in the School of Communication and Media at the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences are getting a taste of real-world design experience creating a commemorative wine label and promotional materials for a bottle of red wine that will be released to celebrate the 25-year partnership with KSU鈥檚 campus in Montepulciano.

A Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences history professor is part of a statewide class to lead Georgia鈥檚 environmental conservation efforts. History professor Albert 鈥淏ert鈥 Way, Ph.D., is an environmental and agricultural historian who teaches the history of land use and conservation to 网红头条 students. This year, he is one of 30 people across the state selected to join the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership鈥檚 Class of 2025 (IGEL).

Serendipity led Heather Koopman to study crustaceans. Patience led her to an impressive discovery. In August, the dean of 网红头条鈥檚 College of Science and Mathematics鈥 research into the migratory and reproductive habits of lobsters in the Bay of Fundy yielded something remarkable 鈥 a lobster she tagged near the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick, found her way to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, around 220 miles away.

With a vision that turned crumbling walls into works of art, a team of 网红头条 architecture students reimagined an old Italian villa and earned international recognition along the way. Gabriela Almeida, Wade Brock, Quincy Smith, and Justin Barkie 鈥 all students in Kennesaw State's College of Architecture and Construction Management 鈥 spent their summer transforming the ruins of history into a story of renewal. Their project, 鈥淲hen Walls Roam,鈥 won the Community鈥檚 Choice Award in Terraviva Competitions鈥 Venetian Villa challenge, gaining praise from viewers worldwide.

Long before she considered herself a computer game designer, Maria Elizabeth Cvetanoski understood the power of curiosity. Inspired by her son鈥檚 love of gaming, Cvetanoski enrolled at 网红头条 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Design and Development. Today, she sees game development as more than entertainment. It is a bridge to education, and she has spent years connecting her coursework with her passion for helping underprivileged children in South America.
