Kai-lin Yung, a FLIGHT28 student, has completed 63 items from Scrappy鈥檚 Bucket List, making her the first student to complete the challenge in her first year at 网红头条.

Yung decided to participate in Scrappy鈥檚 Bucket List, stating that as a first-year student, it is hard to get involved around campus. There are so many opportunities, but the list gives students all the ways they can get involved and a way to try new things.

鈥淚t was important to me because I wanted to feel connected with this university,鈥 Yung said. 鈥淚 really liked KSU when I first got here, and it's hard to be a commuter student and make friends and meet people. And the Scrappy Bucket List was a really great way for me to do that. The reason I completed it in my first year was because I'm extremely competitive.鈥

Yung believed it was going to take longer than expected, but attributed her love for attending events to making it easier to finish the events faster. When asked if she had to choose one item on the list as her favorite, she expressed her love for being outdoors. The Sports and Recreation Outdoor Adventures program, which hosts events such as Nature Bound trips and Climbing Club, to name a few, was at the top of her list with other wellness events.

鈥淕oing to Owl Fit classes and the cooking demos are super fun,鈥 Yung said. 鈥淚t's really fun to connect with other students and cook, and then you get to eat it at the end.鈥

Scrappy鈥檚 Bucket List includes more than just events to attend. There are Scrappy鈥檚 Selfies, which involve popular photo opportunities around campus to get students to explore both of KSU鈥檚 beautiful campuses. Yung鈥檚 favorite selfie was meeting President Kathy 鈥淜at鈥 Schwaig at her first football game. Another way students can get involved, meet friends at KSU, and earn credit is by participating with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).

鈥淚 genuinely learned how many different programs there are at KSU,鈥 Yung said. 鈥淚 hear a lot of freshmen talk about how they feel like they're not involved. They can't find people, but there are so many little communities across campus. There's a culture club for literally every single culture. There are so many different nooks and crannies in KSU that you can get to meet people, and it just grew my pride for KSU and seeing how much the people at the university are working to improve the student experience.鈥
