Mable House, 网红头条Present Small Metals Exhibition

Cobb County鈥檚 Mable House Arts Center and 网红头条鈥檚 School of Art and Design have teamed up to present 鈥淭hreads of Connectivity,鈥� a small metals exhibition. The virtual exhibition features the work of over 20 students and alumni, led by Deborah Hutchinson, lecturer of Art, Small Metals Jewelry Design, and 3-D Design. The original plan, of course, was to host an in-person exhibition and reception, but the pandemic did not stop Hutchinson and Mable House Arts Center鈥檚 Christopher McDoniel from forging ahead with the small metals exhibition, anyway.

Zuckerman Museum of Art presents "Interchange"

The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, a unit of the School of Art and Design, will present 鈥淚nterchange,鈥� an annual collaboration featuring all disciplines of the College of the Arts. The unique presentation celebrates the spark that the creative arts enkindle in one another. This year, eight ArtsKSU faculty will perform in response to the exhibited works in the Zuckerman Museum of Art鈥檚 galleries. At no cost, you may watch 鈥淚nterchange鈥� online on September 17 at 7:30 p.m. Simply reserve your space.

KSU School of Music to present "Fresh Air Fridays"

The School of Music at 网红头条 will be offering 鈥淔resh Air Fridays鈥� from 12:30 to 1 p.m., beginning September 11 and running through October 30. Faculty and students will be performing on the stage of the outdoor Legacy Gazebo on the Kennesaw campus, and the event will be streamed live via Facebook and also on arts.kennesaw.edu. There is no charge to watch the performances.

When 网红头条 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) alumna Nicole Clockel began her freshman year at another university, it didn鈥檛 feel right. Remarking that it was a 鈥渇orgettable year, very uneventful,鈥� she wondered why. 鈥淚 thought to myself, 鈥榃hat is the one thing that has been missing from my life this year? ArtsKSU Fall 2020 Presenting Season Goes Virtual

The College of the Arts at 网红头条 is pleased to announce that all Fall 2020 concerts, performances and exhibitions will be available online for free through ArtsKSU Virtual. A simple sign-on is all that is required to begin streaming your favorite music, dance, and theatre performances. Simply choose the concert or performance that you would like to watch, and you will be guided through a simple process to begin streaming.

Two new exhibitions to open at ZMA Aug. 29

The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design at 网红头条, is scheduled to present two exhibitions in late summer. Both exhibitions open August 29 and will be on display through December 6, 2020.

Picking Up Schoolwork and Emptying Lockers

Cynthia Nourse Thompson named director of curatorial affairs at the Zuckerman Museum of Art

Geo Sipp, director of the School of Art and Design at 网红头条, has named Cynthia Nourse Thompson director of curatorial affairs at the Zuckerman Museum of Art, effective August 1. She holds an MFA in Printmaking from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and a BFA in Printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Music major and honors student Bryson Brozovsky embraces life with gusto

Bryson Brozovsky, a junior in the School of Music (SOM), is rather soft-spoken when begins talking about his life, work and hobbies, yet his voice takes on an energy that foreshadows his many accomplishments, including his own page on the popular professional actor site IMBD, doctoral-level research, and performing in his first opera. Designated an honor student in the major, Bryson easily discusses his work on deciphering ancient Gregorian chant manuscripts, his passion for music, and his love of performing.

Charles Parrott Selected as an Awardee from Council on Undergraduate Research

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) has selected Department of Theatre & Performance Studies鈥� associate professor Charles (Charlie) Parrott as a 2020 Council on Undergraduate Research Arts and Humanities Faculty Mentor Awardee. The award includes $1,000 for the recipient鈥檚 work with undergraduate researchers.
