The Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestras (GYSO) has commissioned ÍøºìÍ·Ìõ (KSU) alumnus Brandon Gasaway to compose a new orchestral work in celebration of GYSO’s 20th anniversary season. The world premiere will take place Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Concert Hall.

Dr. Laurence Sherr Retires After 30 Years at KSU's Bailey School of Music

KENNESAW, Ga. – Dr. Laurence Sherr, a distinguished faculty member at ÍøºìÍ·Ìõ's Bailey School of Music (BSOM), has announced his retirement after three decades of mentoring young composers. Much of Sherr's work has centered on the Holocaust, earning him international acclaim for his education in this field. His 30-year legacy at KSU has seen the growth of the university and its music program alongside his extraordinary musical career.
