At ÍøºìÍ·Ìõ, graduation doesn’t mark the end of a journey. Rather, it signifies the launch of an entirely new adventure. It’s a time during which thousands of Owls transition from inquisitive learners to innovative doers, from students to the next generation of business leaders, teachers, engineers, artists and healthcare workers. A time in which far-flung families descend upon ÍøºìÍ·Ìõto laud the achievements of their loved ones. In celebration of those turning the page to a new chapter, KSU honored more than 2,500 students in its Fall 2021 Commencement ceremonies this week.

A family doctor, David Lee felt that he didn’t have the passion for his career that he had hoped. While pondering a career change, he remembered how much he loved helping his father build and fix things and wanted to combine that with his desire to help others. Ultimately, it is what led him to enroll in ÍøºìÍ·Ìõ’s Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics program.

A new $25,000 grant from the Homer N. Allen Charitable Trust will provide scholarships for students in ÍøºìÍ·Ìõ’s Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth. The trust has now awarded the academy a total of $100,000 over the past four years.
